The new santri recognized the sorogan and bandongan system in Tebuireng

Tebuireng.online- The recitation system at the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School became the last material in the New Santri Orientation Period (MOSBA) activities. Previously, there was an introduction from Santri Husada who was one of the extracurricular extracurricular boarding schools which is engaged in the health sector. This activity was carried out after the midday prayer at the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School Mosque, on Sunday (6/7/2025).

The recitation system material was delivered by Ustadz M Syifa’ul Fuad who is one of the senior teachers and alumni of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School. Early in the conversation, he conveyed related to the learning and studying methods of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School.

“In the tradition of Tebuireng, the recitation of the yellow book becomes the main heart of the learning process. Sorogan and Bandongan are 2 methods that have been running since Hadratussyaikh Hasyim Asy’ari,” explained Ustadz Fuad.

He explained that the sorogan method is a learning process one by one, where students read the book before the cleric or teacher to be corrected and guided directly. While Bandongan is a method in which a teacher reads the book and santri notes and listening to the explanation of its meaning.

Over time, now in Tebuireng also stressed the importance of the recitation of the Qur’an, which includes tahsin, recitation, to the tahfidz program. “The recitation of the Qur’an was held because some students were still not good at reading it and this has been an additional recitation since the last 20 years. Not just a routine, but part of the spiritual foundation of students. Al-Qur’an must be your daily friends,” he said.

In addition, in the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School there is also Diniyah Takmiliyah. Diniyah Takmiliyah contributes to several schools around the cottage because the learning is as additional or improvement from the school.

Furthermore, Ustadz Fuad gave a briefing on how to achieve blessings and success in learning, in Tebuireng there were 2 methods that must be done by the students, namely the first Bil Kasbi This means that Dhohir’s efforts such as reading books, conducting research, discussions, etc. Second Kill Casefi This means inner efforts, such as prayer, service, and so on.

This session became one of the materials that received the most attention from the new students, because it involved their core activities during living and studying in Tebuireng. With the spirit of coaching, Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School hopes that new students can immediately adjust and follow the learning process well, in order to produce a generation of scholars, scholars, and leaders of the people who have noble character.
